If it’s Saturday - and I know it is - my family and I are visiting my extended family in Georgia for our annual Christmas gathering. My children have been looking forward to this visit for weeks (months?), knowing full well that Christmas at Grandpa and Grandma’s house is always special.
And if I know my dad, he’s stoked the fire in the fireplace, which is a good thing. Living south of Chicago the weather has been downright freezing. No doubt, we’ll be roasting more than our hands on that open fire. There may even be some friendly squabbling about who gets to sit on the hearth. Christian character will be momentarily pushed to the side in favor of a warm bum.
So no teaching article today. I’m going to bask in the company of my parents, my brother and sister and their families, and a couple of aunts and uncles I haven’t seen in a few years, and probably more than a few of my mom’s Pecan Canadian cookies and my Aunt Donna’s baklava.
{{sigh}} I love Christmastime and being with family.
What do you love about celebrating Christmas? Anything special you look forward to?

Thank you for the prayers Deb. We need them. She had another incident at school on Friday and had hives all Friday night.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy your trip to GA. I didn't realize you have family there. I have lots of kin folks in GA. It's one of my favorite states. You'll have to let me know what part you go to.
Sounds like a wonderful family gathering.
