Teach your child to ask before taking the last of something.
Whether it’s the last cookie, the last dinner roll, or the last balloon at the party, instruct your child to ask everyone present at the table or the person in charge of the affair if it would be all right if he took the last item. Teach him that real charity comes, when the answer is ‘no’, when he graciously gives up the thing he asked for.
