The Blessing Of Proximity

What a blessing I received just yesterday. Joy In The Burbs bestowed upon me an award thanking me for the ministry here at TGMT. It does so fit part of the goal I'm trying to accomplish, that of bringing families together with God in the center of who they are.The award is for PROXIMITY and it's explained this way:

"This blog invests and believes in PROXIMITY - nearness in space, time and relationships! These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers! Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award."

Thank you Joy in the Burbs for this wonderful tribute. And now I choose these eight bloggers who have captured me with their writing and heart for God's kingdom:

Rachel at Way of Shiloh - Yes, I know, she's my daughter so maybe I'm a little prejudiced, but her writing speaks from the heart. She doesn't post as often as I'd like her to, but what she has to say would be of encouragement to any teen and a great insight for parents.

John Nunnikhoven at Voices Together - John is a retired innkeeper who is active in prson ministry and aftercare and who is praying through the Psalms on his blog. What he shares always blesses me.

Karla Meachem at Empowering Christian Women - Karla loves to share the best of what's out there on the web in order to strengthen our walks. I met her on Twitter and have loved her beautiful gentle spirit.

Rick Osborne at Christian Parenting - Rick has the same heart for reaching Christian parents as I have. He's also started up another site and is a contributing author at Christian Parenting Daily.

Lynn Mosher at Heading Home - Lynn's writing is fabulous. I love her insight and think she is just gifted with her knowledge ofthe Word.

David R. Lewis at My Missional Position - David is a church planter in inner city Troy, NY where he has taken on the calling of reaching those that many say are unreachable. If anybody practices proximity, it's David.

Sue at Liam's Grandma or Maggie In Real Life - As big as the world wide web is, I found Sue, a former high school classmate of mine, writing to a blog on it. We didn't know each other that well in high school, but have become good friends, in a bloggy kind of way, since. I get a real kick out of her perspectives on life.

Frugal Husband and Frugal Wife at Our Frugal Life - I don't know their real names because they don't post them, but this Christian couple does their best to make living more affordable and simpler by doling out information and insight on frugal living. We've never really met, but they have helped me tremendously in keeping the homefires lit and TGMT going during these troublesome times.

Please check these sites out. I know they will bless you just as much as they have blessed me!

Joy, you'll love them! Inspiring all of them, in their own way.
