The end of the week is here and my husband is back from attending orientation/training in Atlanta for a job he took in Kankakee. For those of you not in the know, my husband, along with about 2500 other employees, lost his job at a nationally recognized trucking firm on May 19th. That it took us by surprise is an understatement.
Fortunately in the trucking industry unemployment is virtually unheard of. Unfortunately, there is no standardization among pay scales and employee benefits. While there are some things my husband is quite impressed with in this new company, we are having to work with lower pay and more costly benefits. With the economy being what it is, we find ourselves vacillating between being thankful for the opportunity and hoping we made the right decision.
For those of you who have been praying for us, thank you so much! Your prayers have been coveted as we weather this transition and discuss options and address concerns. It has been a learning process for us in discerning selfish prayer and godly focus. Please continue to keep us in your prayers.
Bill and I both think this trial will be a turning point for something in our lives. What that something is, we don’t know. What we do know, however, is that God is good. We will continue to lead lives obedient to His will and leave the guidance and blessing up to Him.
