I have become a huge fan of the popera group Il Divo. I was introduced to their music by an online friend, and have managed to cajole my family into buying three of their four albums as birthday and Christmas gifts. I listen to them almost exclusively. My children would probably say ad nauseum.
The last song on their current album is an incredible rendition of Amazing Grace. It's very hard (for me, anyway) not to get caught up in the sweeping music and crescendoing voices. I like to close my eyes and picture anything that majestically points to God, whether it be an image of His creation or just revelling in His immense love.
There is no way for any of us to get to heaven except through accepting the gift of Jesus dying on the cross. That is an amazing act of mercy and grace that none of us deserve, but that God gave us because of His incomparable love for His people.
Which makes Amazing Grace a fitting Valentine's song, I think. Enjoy.
