My baby girl is turning sixteen. Her birthday is actually on Monday, the 3rd, but today she's having her party with some of her lovely friends, so I thought I would capture some of who she is in pictures.
She was always a curious girl, spying on the neighbors...
... helping mom in the kitchen...
... making friends wherever she went.
She absolutely loves, loves, LOVES to read and write. She reads so much that I sometimes worry about her eyes, until she reminds me that it's all MY fault that she loves to read so much (I guess I shouldn't have made the public library such a special place). And those of you who have been following know she has a way with words.
Mostly, I have grown to admire her Christian character. She made her profession of faith when she was ten, but a commitment to follow Christ when she was thirteen. And nothing makes her father and I more proud than to know she walks with the Lord. Not accomplishments, not talent (and she has a boatload of it), not which college she picks, not how popular she is, nothing.
She is the kind of daughter that makes other parents envious. And I'm so proud to be her mom.
